DAYTROTTER SESSION

THE DAWN INTO THE SKY AND LET IT GO
Words by Sean Moeller, Illustration by Johnnie Cluney, Recording engineered by Josh Niles March 19, 2014

The world that Majestico brings us into is one of those fucked up places, decorated by fever dreams and ephemera from all brand of unspooled tangents. It's rooted in a mellow slow burn. Everything reeks like weed and we fall into a deep pit of tame hues and dashing lights. We're plunged into a place where a girl you know is stitching together jorts and sequined shoes for cats and it's a place that makes for a difficult time in differentiating between a present and altered state. Some might say, "Well, who would want to, dummy?" Touche. Live Session Here.

ON "WHEN KINGDOM COME", MAJESTICO VISITS THE OUTER REACHES OF PSYCHEDELIA WITHOUT GETTING LOST
Seth Graves February 27, 2014
When Kingdom Come — at least in terms of production — is one of the best-sounding contemporary psychedelic rock records there is. Recorded at The Bomb Shelter by Andrija Tokic (also responsible for Alabama Shakes' Grammy-nominated Boys and Girls), When Kingdom Come carries a thump more apt to punish stereo speakers than eardrums and a rumble that's primed for radio play. NASHVILLE CREAM

D. PATRICK RODGERS ON FRI, FEB 7, 2014

We mentioned last month that local psychedelic warrior Majestico recently joined ATO Records' roster and will release his When Kingdom Come on March 4. Well, lucky for us, frontman Graham Fitzpenn and his crew of face-painted daytrippers are previewing the whole damn thing now via Soundcloud. Stream that above or via Soundcloud — if you're comfortable with everything on the bluesy psych-o-meter, from The Dave Clark Five and The Animals all the way on over to The Doors, you're gonna dig on this.

CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND

Stream: Nashville psych-rock outfit Majestico’s new album When Kingdom Come
BY CHRIS COPLANON FEBRUARY 04, 2014, 4:30PM

Majestico is the awesome-sounding moniker of Nashville’s Graham Fitzpenn, who’s spent the last several years carving out a local niche with a rambunctious blend of psych, garage, country, and folk. When he’s not blurring genre boundaries, he dresses up as a post-apocalyptic shaman and issues cryptic statements like, “Majestico is cruising a tram ride on the milky-way highway searching for the key to life.” His oddball hijinx and riotous sound have proven effective, though, as The Alabama Shakes recently brought Fitzpenn on tour. No doubt The Shakes’ bosses at ATO Records took notice, as they’ve since signed on to release Majestico’s latest album, When Kingdom Come. Read More

LISTEN TO MAJESTICO'S NEW TUNE "I JUST WANT TO"
AUTHORED BY: NOISEY STAFF JAN. 22 2014

Majestico also makes good music, as evidenced by this new track "I Just Want To" which has a low-slung, psych-rock appeal that will find favor with fans of the Brian Jonestown Massacre, and, it seems, Brittany Howard from Alabama Shakes, who brought him on tour. This in turn meant Majestico seduced the Shakes' Boys & Girls producer Andrija Tokic into producing his debut. Read More

PREMIERE: LOVE IS GOD
AUTHORED BY: MOKB STAFF JAN. 7 2014

We believe that good old fashion rock ‘n roll is ready for a resurgence in 2014. One of the bands we believe could be at the forefront is Nashville’s psych-glam band Majestico. They already have tour with and received the seal of approval from Alabama Shakes front-woman Brittany Howard as well as tagging their Boys & Girls producer Andrija Tokic for their forthcoming LP When Kingdom Come. That album will be released exclusively via the ATO Record Club on February 11th, and digitally as well as select independent record stores on March 4th. Read More
